Where to Take Family Photos in Austin

Location Ideas In and Around Austin

This year, I’ve introduced Short Sessions as an alternative to Mini Sessions. This decision was motivated by wanting to offer my families easier booking, easier experiences, and honestly…better photos. Mini Sessions are typically 6 sessions for 6 different families scheduled back-to-back in a 2 hour window. It’s fast and furious. It allows me just enough time to get a handful of good portraits for you to put on a Christmas card. The downside is having to choose from the few dates and locations that I offer and then having your whole family on time and in good spirits for your 15 minute slot. In my opinion, it’s more stressful for the family and it’s way less personal.

Short Sessions give you the pros of mini sessions (which seems to be less time and less money) but eliminate the negatives. With a short session, you get to schedule 30 minutes on ANY available date that I have and you get to pick the location. Want to take photos at home? Let’s do it! You’ve always wanted to take photos at Laguna Gloria? Done. And bonus, if your session is scheduled just for you, and you’re running late, or the session starts with a grumpy kid…there is SO MUCH grace and flexibility with time.

Have I convinced you yet?
